On Jun 30th, Gansu Province Ecology & Environment Department acknowledged the admission of CAS Nengyuan Chemistry (Gansu) Co Ltd 100kt/a green methanol production project environment impact report for publicity.
The CNY1.05bn investment is mainly to build 7 gasification units (6 in use + 1 standby), raw syngas cleaning unit & reforming unit, water electrolysis to H2 unit (48 tubs), methanol synthesis & distillation unit, ASU oxygen unit, 18.5t/h biomass boiler, WWT facility, and accessory waste heat boiler, utility/auxiliary facilities, storage/transport facilities, and environment protection facilities etc.
The project is designed to apply Beijing KMY Thermal Energy Technology Co Ltd multi-oxygen combustion carbon dioxide biomass gasification technology in the gasification units.
The 2026 Biomass Gasification and Downstream Green Products Forum will
be held on September 15–16 in Baicheng. The conference will explore
capacity planning for green methanol, SAF, and green LNG, as well as
market prospects for biomass gasification; biomass collection and
transportation schemes; biomass crushing and molding pretreatment
technologies and equipment; fixed-bed, fluidized-bed, entrained-flow,
and pyrolysis gasification processes and demonstration experience;
biogenic syngas purification technologies and equipment; process routes
for biogenic syngas to downstream green products; and research progress
and large-scale cultivation prospects of energy crops. The event will
also include a visit to the Shanghai Electric Taonan Wind Power Coupled
Biomass Green Methanol Integrated Demonstration Project.
